Caregivers – whether family members or professionals – endure many difficulties of caring for their loved ones. We offer this prayer, composed by several laypersons and a priest, to all who want to reach out to God for the graces needed to carry out their everyday tasks.
Prayer of a Caregiver
Lord Jesus Christ, help me to live out the family spirit of Martha, Mary and Lazarus in caring for my loved one. When I am weary, give me strength; when despairing, give me hope; when in darkness, give me light.
Give me the grace to listen like Mary, to serve like Martha, and to follow your commands like Lazarus. All with the hope that my loved one and I may one day be welcomed by you — the Resurrection and the Life. Amen.
